our story
Portland, OR to Santa Clara, CA
New to the city, fresh out of college and ready to take on the world, Ben and Tiff did not realize that on the last weekend of the summer of 2016, their hopes and dreams of single life in Portland would not go as planned. Where would Ben be, but manning the grill and ensuring closest proximity to the food the first time their eyes met. Although Ben doesn't believe Tiff's love at first sight claim--if anyone knows Tiff, food is her sixth love language, so of course she fell in love with the food the first time she saw it.
Hiking, snowboarding and drinking their way through PDX: they fell in love. So how else would Ben propose, but after a perfect day snowboarding in Colorado. He enlisted the help from Tiff's sister, Kat, and surprised Tiff with her dad and little brother, Paul, crashing the proposal. Asking all of our family and friends to wish us well in this next chapter by sending little videos, Ben made sure Tiff still felt loved in our Corona-era proposal.
California is our present and most likely our near future, but who knows what lies ahead. Tiff never thought she'd move to CA in the first place, so anything is possible as long as they have each other.
...
Tiff here-- when I was little, I dreamed of a fantastical life: exploring the world, eating delicious foods and sharing that with my person. Ben gives me that each and every day - while making me a more compassionate and patient person. And anyone who knows me, knows that's a nearly impossible task. Although we're far from perfect and we fight when Ben beats me at every single game we play, we always stop to celebrate wins and laugh at each other along the way.

gifts
Your presence on our wedding day is the most important gift you could ever give us. Seriously.
However if you would like to share a gift, in Vietnamese tradition, gifting is made in the form of money which represents prosperity, health, and happiness. During the reception, the bride and groom "chào bàn," or table greet, to personally thank guests for their well wishes and collect gifts at that time. Usually, each table selects a representative to give a quick congratulatory toast to the bride and groom.
We've also created a registry. As Ben and I live in an apartment in Santa Clara and we have more than enough in appliances and things, we filled this registry with experience-type items that we would enjoy.
Originally, Ben and I were supposed to travel to Japan to snowboard in Hokkaido for the famous JaPOW for our Honeymoon; however, with strict restrictions for quarantine, we have pivoted to a sunny destination: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Of course, it wouldn't be us without some adventure, so regardless of a tropical pivot, Ben is adamant on getting me to learn kiteboarding in one of the best kiteboarding spots in the world.
